Best Fish & Chips in Ballymena by far. Award winning restaurant & takeaway well justified. You may have to wait a bit longer than you expect as the fresh Fish seem to be cooked from scratch while you wait, but we’ll worth it. Portions are generous and you get a few chips with your Fish only order, nice touch! Always always busy, a good sign!

By far the nicest chip shop I have tasted. Fish was beautiful portion size was perfect and the chips were very tasty. Wouldn’t be a massive chippy fan but this little beauty has definitely hit the spot.

Well what can I say, I came in here for directions to the eco park. Asked for more info on the menu, and decided to try the grilled fish. And wow the service and staff 15 stars 🤩 I'm, not a local but I'm sure to recommend the Merchent to my friends who live locally. It's, only been opened (since 2021) but already the Best Fish&Chip Shop in Northern Ireland ( in the UK it should be) 😉

Can understand why this was voted best chippy in 2021. Reasonably priced, quality food. Really enjoyed their smoked haddock supper and the sausage supper lunch special with curry sauce. Wish you had a shop in Australia 🙂

Absolutely amazing food is it any wonder this place is my go to takeaway for anything fish related their batter is amazing and the salt and chilli scampi is incredible, so tasty and incredibly addictive you'll be back for more 😋

We stopped here specifically for fish and chips, we were traveling from further north back to Dublin and searched for options on Google Maps. We were not disappointed! Huge portions and super fresh! You order at the counter and they bring it to you when ready, everything seemed like it was made to order and not sitting around. It is a small restaurant, we went at an odd time and there were 2 other people eating, so I'm not sure if there are busier times to account for.
